Amaretto

Amaretto is a sweet Italian almond-flavored liqueur. More often than not, it’s made from apricot kernels, peach stones or the pits of other stone fruits. Other flavoring is added from almond extract, vanilla and other botanicals. Brown sugar or burnt sugar is often used as the sweetener, providing its rich, dark color. Premium products tend to have a more complex flavor and have less sugar than the cloyingly sweet inexpensive brands.
