Strawberry Fix

Sasha Petraske was the founder of famed New York City bar Milk & Honey. Sadly, neither are with us any longer but luckily we have Sasha’s book, Regarding Cocktails that keeps creations like this cocktail alive. The muddled strawberries left at the bottom of the glass create a beautifully gradated visual and bring what would be a typical whiskey sour onto a whole new level. Know your ingredients. Taste the strawberries first to determine their sweetness and adjust the amount of simple syrup accordingly.

Instructions

Add strawberries to a double old fashioned glass and muddle lightly. Fill the glass with crushed ice. Shake all other ingredients with ice until chilled and strain over the top of the crushed ice. Garnish with a fresh strawberry.
