The rums of St. Lucia have many influences, styles and characteristics. They are distilled mostly from molasses but also occasionally from sugar cane juice. They use a variety of types of stills. Many St. Lucian rums could be considered of the English style but the lines are blurry here because there are definitive Spanish influences and certainly the French style of making rum with sugar cane juice comes into play in some instances. The beauty, and perhaps the iconic St. Lucian rum artistry, comes from the blending of multiple products into final expressions. This is a category well worth exploring.
