Angostura brings together a proprietary blend of spices (ironically not containing angostura bark) to create an incredibly flexible and classic aromatic bitters. Regarded as the oldest continually produced commercial bitters, Angostura was created by Dr. J.G.B. Sievert in 1824, and first produced in the town of Angostura in Venezuela (now named Ciudad Bolívar), but production was relocated by the House of Angostura to Trinidad and Tobago in 1875.
