Pernod

Pernod is a French anise-flavored liqueur that tastes like licorice. The maker refers to itself as the “original absinthe” because in 1798 its founder Henri-Louis Pernod helped create the first absinthe distillery. It’s bottled at 68% ABV. Other brands of Absinthe can make suitable substitutes especially when used in small quantities.
