Amaro di Angostura
Derived from the same process as Angostura bitters, this amaro has much of the same flavor profile. Notes of cinnamon, dark chocolate, cardamom, clove and kola nut are all present. It’s a bit spicier than other amari and has a bright citrus-mint element. Amaro di Angostura is sweeter than the aromatic bitters and is bottled at 35% ABV. A suitable sub might be to dilute and sweeten the aromatic bitters but we haven’t tried this to know what ratio to use.
