21st Century

Jim Meehan of PDT fame worked with Audrey Sanders of Pegu Club to create this wonderful cocktail of oddly assembled ingredients. They took on the classic 20th Century cocktail, replacing gin and Lillet Blanc with tequila and anise liqueur. In what was a nice surprise to me, the new combination really worked! I shouldn’t be surprised when these heavy hitters are at the helm.

Instructions

Rinse a chilled coupe with Pernod and discard the rest. Shake remaining ingredients with ice and strain into coupe.
