Lion’s Paw

A riff on the classic Lion’s Tail cocktail, I really enjoyed this simplfied version. It dials back the original cocktail’s mighty allspice dram and replaces some of that spice with cinnamon and rounds everything out with the orgeat, ending up with a beautiful balance. This drink is served over crushed ice instead of being served up in a coupe; a great choice. As can be seen, I didn’t go the full route of making myself an ice shell with flowers in it.

Instructions

Shake with ice and strain into a double old fashioned glass. Fill with crushed ice and garnish with mint sprigs and an ice shell with edible flowers.
