Lucien Gaudin

Named after a six-time French Olympic fencer from the 1920s, this elegant cocktail perfectly balances bitter with sweet. It resembles a Negroni but calls for dry vermouth instead of sweet and includes Cointreau for sweetness. As per usual, Death & Co. delivers again with my favorite variation of a classic. I tend to like their take much more than the original specs. In this case, they’ve increased the gin while taming the Campari’s bitterness.
