Longtime San Francisco barman David Nepove created this bourbon-based Manhattan riff.
On paper this is reminiscent of the Black Manhattan and other spirit-forward whiskey drinks, but ends up being unique.
The Maraschino has an unexpected push-pull effect here whereas it adds its own sweetness while serving to open up all the other ingredients.

Stir all ingredients in a mixing glass with ice. Strain into a chilled coupe. Garnish with an orange twist.
