Tortuga

Originally appearing on Trader Vic’s menu in 1940 as an answer to the Don the Beachcomber Zombie cocktail, it was said to be “served with either crutches or a wheel chair.” This drink is super polarizing to today’s tiki enthusiasts. The sweet vermouth and crème de cacao combination is unusual for a tiki cocktail and presents a taste profile that’s unusual to say the least. While I find it reasonably good, the Zombie has nothing to worry about.
