Tipperary Cocktail

Getting its name from a town in southern Ireland, this is one of the few cocktails that specifically calls for Irish Whiskey and I’m glad to see it. It first appeared as an equal parts recipe in 1916’s Recipes for Mixed Drinks. Several other variations exist with all kinds of ratios but this spec will likely be most appealing to modern palates. While I particularly like the Jameson and Green Chartreuse combo seen here, Redbreast 12 or Powers also work really well.

Instructions

Rinse a chilled coupe with Green Chartreuse and discard the rest. Stir the remaining ingredients with ice and strain into coupe.
