Monkeypod Nod

We have a tiki bar just north of San Francisco across the Bay Bridge on the island town of Alameda. It’s called Forbidden Island. One of their beloved drinks is the Monkeypod and this is my tribute to it. They describe it as, “Flavors of tamarind, coconut and lime swing together in perfect harmony through juicy jungles of your pleased palate, in this original cocktail created by the Monkeyman Derek Weaver.” This version doesn’t quite match the original, but I’ll keep monkeying around with it.

Instructions

Add everything to tin. Flash blend or shake with crushed ice. Pour into a double old fashioned glass and top with more ice. Garnish with fresh mint.
