Brooklyn
This Manhattan variation is named after one of New York’s five boroughs.
It originally appeared in print in 1908’s Drinks! by Jacques Straub.
It calls for the somewhat obscure Amer Picon, a bitter apertiff not available in the US.
One can substitute Amaro CioCiaro or a few dashes of Angostura bitters as I have done here.

Stir all ingredients in a mixing glass with ice. Strain into a chilled coupe. Garnish with a cocktail cherry.
