The heavy clove spices of the falernum really help to offset the sweetness introduced by the fresh orange juice.
The standard spec calls for Virgin Islands light rum and a darker rum from Guyana or Jamaica. I chose to go with an all-El Dorado Demerara mix here and it turned out fantastic.
The burnt sugar flavor of the Guyanese rum really compliments the Apricot liqueur.

Shake well with ice cubes. Pour unstrained into a double old fashioned glass. Garnish with an orange slice speared to a cocktail cherry with a pirate flag pick.
