Dating back to 1915 and first appearing in the book, Recipes for Mixed Drinks, we have a drink here based on the Manhattan that is a play on the classic Creole cocktail but might remind you more of the venerable Boulevardier.
That’s a mouthful for sure, but it’s a good example of how cocktails borrow so much from one another, inspiring riff after riff until something almost completely new is formed.

Stir all ingredients in a mixing glass with ice. Strain into a chilled coupe. Express and discard a lemon and an orange peel.
