El Presidente
Honoring a Cuban president from the past, this Prohibition-era cocktail fills the role of a tropical Manhattan.
Like so many cocktails, there are many variations available. This one, from Smuggler’s Cove, oddly calls out to be shaken.
If I am remembering correctly, they first served their version, as so many others do, using the sweeter blanc vermouth. At some point, they switched it up to a dry white.
The dry vermouth creates a much better balanced experience.
